There was a time you knew things without needing proof. A feeling in your gut that turned out to be right. A hesitation you ignored, and later wished you hadn't.

Somewhere along the way, many of us learn to override that voice. We're taught to trust logic over feeling, other people's opinions over our own knowing, certainty over the quiet nudge that doesn't come with an explanation.

If you've lost touch with your intuition, here's how to start finding your way back.

Notice the difference between fear and intuition

Fear is loud, repetitive, and usually about the future — it spirals. Intuition is quieter, calmer, and usually about the present moment — it simply is. Learning to tell them apart is the first step. Ask yourself: does this feeling want me to shrink, or does it want me to pay attention?

Start with small decisions

You don't have to trust yourself with the biggest choice in your life right away. Practice on smaller things first — which route to take, whether to make the call, what to say yes or no to today. Every small moment you honor that instinct builds the muscle back.

Get quiet enough to actually hear it

Intuition rarely shouts. It tends to show up in stillness — in the shower, on a walk, right before sleep. If your days are wall-to-wall noise and scrolling, there's simply no room for it to surface. Even five quiet minutes a day can be enough to start.

Stop asking everyone else first

If your first instinct after every decision is to ask ten other people what they think, that's often a sign you've been taught not to trust your own read on things. Try sitting with your own answer before you go looking for outside validation — even if you still ask others afterward.

Let your track record rebuild your trust

Keep a simple log of moments your gut was right — even small ones. Trust isn't rebuilt through willpower alone. It's rebuilt through evidence, one instance at a time.

Be patient with the process

If you spent years learning to silence this part of yourself, it makes sense that relearning to trust it takes time. This isn't about getting it "right" every time. It's about coming back into relationship with yourself, one small moment at a time.

This is at the heart of what I explore in This Book Found You Because Your Soul Whispered — a gentle guide back to the parts of yourself you were taught to quiet. If you've been longing to trust yourself again, this book is here to help you find your way home.

Learn more about the book here.

https://thesoulsexperience.author-pages.com/

Sometimes it doesn't come as a lightning bolt. It comes as a quiet, persistent ache, a feeling you can't quite name, but can't quite ignore either.

If you've been feeling pulled lately, restless in a life that looks fine on paper, or strangely emotional over things that seem small, this might not be a mood. It might be your soul trying to get your attention.

Here are some of the most common signs:

You feel a tug toward something you can't explain.
Not a plan. Not a goal. Just a pull toward stillness, toward a different way of living, toward a version of yourself you haven't met yet.

Old coping mechanisms stop working.
The things that used to soothe you, busyness, distraction, keeping the peace, start to feel hollow. That's not a failure. That's growth asking for more room.

You keep noticing the same message, over and over.
A phrase in a book, a stranger's comment, a coincidence that feels too specific to be random. Synchronicities like this are often the soul's way of underlining something you already sense.

You feel disconnected from a life you used to want.
Things that once felt like enough, the job, the routine, the role you play for everyone else, start to feel like a costume instead of a home.

You cry (or want to) for no clear reason.
Unprocessed grief, old wounds, and long-buried longing often surface quietly, not dramatically. Tears can be a release valve for a soul that's ready to be heard.

What to do when you notice these signs

You don't have to overhaul your life overnight. The gentlest first step is simply to stop and listen, to treat the ache as information instead of a problem to fix.

Ask yourself:

What have I been avoiding feeling?
What would it mean to trust this instead of explaining it away?
Who was I before I learned to perform for everyone else?

This is the heart of what I explore in This Book Found You Because Your Soul Whispered, for the quiet feelers, the deep thinkers, and the tired hearts still hoping. If your soul has been whispering, this book is here to help you finally listen.

Blog post.

If change has felt out of reach no matter how hard you try, it might not be about willpower. It might be about beliefs you absorbed so long ago you've mistaken them for facts.

Most of us aren't trapped by obvious barriers. We're held back by the ones no one sees:

The fear of disappointing others

The stories we've been told about who we are

The belief that "this is just how life is"

Over time, these thoughts can become so familiar that we stop questioning them. We learn to live inside them—even when they no longer serve us. Research on human behavior shows that people can internalize limits after repeated experiences, eventually believing change isn’t possible, even when it is.

But here’s the truth:
What was learned… can be unlearned.

🌱 The Moment Everything Shifts

Breaking free doesn’t always start with action.
It starts with awareness.
It’s the moment you pause and ask:

Is this really who I am?

Or is this who I’ve been taught to be?

That single question creates space.

And in that space, something powerful happens—you begin to remember yourself.

🔥 Why Breaking Free Feels So Hard

Letting go isn’t just about change. It’s about identity.
Because when you release old beliefs, habits, or roles, you’re also stepping into the unknown. And the unknown can feel terrifying.
Our comfort zones may limit us, but they also feel safe—so we stay, even when we’re ready for more.

Breaking free requires courage, yes…

But more than that, it requires trust.

Trust that what’s calling you forward is stronger than what’s holding you back.

💫 What “Freedom” Really Looks Like

Freedom isn’t about having a perfect life.
It’s about living a true one.
It looks like:

Saying no without guilt

Letting go of the need to be everything for everyone

Choosing yourself, even when it feels unfamiliar

It’s quieter than we expect—but deeper than we imagine.

💭 Final Thought

Maybe you didn’t find this message by accident.
Maybe something within you has been trying to get your attention for a while now.
And maybe—just maybe—
this is the moment you listen.

📖 Continue the Journey

If this message spoke to something deep within you,
you may already know why.
Is This Book Found You Because Your Soul Whispered?
isn’t just a title—it’s an invitation.
An invitation to listen more closely.
To trust what you feel.
And to follow the quiet voice that’s been guiding you all along.
✨ If your soul led you here… this may be your next step.

Why Do I Feel Like I'm Not Being My True Self?

Blog post.

If you've ever felt like you're performing your own life instead of living it, you're not imagining it. Many of us learned, often early, to wear masks just to feel safe or accepted.

Some are obvious: the professional face, the strong one, the cheerful one who "has it together." Others are quieter and harder to name: the one who minimizes their needs, the one who keeps the peace, the one who never asks for help.

Most of us don’t consciously choose these masks. We learn them.

Often early.

We learn which parts of us are welcomed and which parts feel less safe to show. We learn what keeps us connected, avoids conflict, earns approval, or simply helps us get through the day.

And so, we adapt.

Masks Are Not the Problem

It’s important to say this gently and clearly:

The masks we wear are not a failure of character.

They are signs of wisdom and survival.

At some point in your life, each mask had a purpose. It protected something tender. It helped you navigate environments that didn’t leave much room for your full truth.

The mask of strength may have formed when vulnerability wasn’t met with care.

The mask of busyness may have emerged when rest felt unsafe.

The mask of being “easygoing” may have grown in rooms where your needs were inconvenient.

These adaptations made sense.

They still do.

When the Mask Becomes the Identity

The challenge isn’t that we wear masks, it’s when we forget we’re wearing them.

Over time, a mask can slip so seamlessly into our daily life that it begins to feel like who we are. We stop noticing the effort it takes to hold it in place. We stop listening to the quieter signals underneath, fatigue, resentment, numbness, longing.

We may appear functional. Responsible. High‑performing.

Yet feel strangely disconnected from ourselves.

Not broken.

Just distant.

This is often the beginning of the question many people carry quietly:

Who am I beneath all of this?

Gently Noticing the Masks You Wear

Removing masks doesn’t begin with tearing them off. It begins with noticing, without judgment.

You might gently ask yourself:

Who do I become in different rooms?

When do I feel most “on guard”?

Which parts of me feel safest to show, and which stay hidden?

What does it cost me to keep this mask in place?

Awareness is not a demand to change.

It is an invitation to listen.

Sometimes the simplest realization "Oh, this is something I learned to do to stay safe" , can soften years of self‑criticism.

Coming Home Is Not About Becoming Someone New

Healing isn’t about ripping away every mask or suddenly living “fully authentic” in all spaces. That kind of pressure often replaces one mask with another.

Instead, coming home to yourself is quieter than that.

It’s the gradual remembering that your worth does not depend on performance. That your presence does not need to be earned. That there is more to you than the roles you learned to play.

You don’t have to be unmasked everywhere.

You only need spaces, internal and external, where you can breathe a little more freely.

And sometimes, the first space where the mask softens is within your own awareness.

A Gentle Invitation

If you are noticing your masks more lately, that doesn’t mean something is wrong. It may simply mean something deeper in you is ready to be met with compassion.

Not fixed.

Not rushed.

Just welcomed.

You are allowed to take your time.

This reflection comes from the heart of my book, This Book Found You Because Your Soul Whispered, a gentle companion for those ready to explore healing without pressure or performance.
